I have recently started trying 1.1RC 4...

I really like it and it is stable and works really great for me...

I best thing i love abt this over the MS office is Formula editing though it is pain that there is no proper documentation but hey this is my second and i love it...

I cant get 64M file so ill wait for 1.1 final for now

I have to say it's a sweet application compared to 1.0 it's much faster at starting up (and that's without the win32 quicklanch systray thing enabled), imports Word, Excel and Powerpoint files better.

I'd still say for most things MS Office is just the slight bit better - however, doing a cost benefit analysis then I'd say openoffice.org will more than meet the needs of most people and it's free.

Plus it can do things Office can't do out of the box - export to PDF being a particularly useful one, you can also export presentations in Flash format.

Hm. I'd better check it out then :-)

I've been using OpenOffice 1.1 for quite some time now and I love it. It has some small annoyances but I can live with them.

Switching from Microsoft Office is still too difficult for a normal user. For a power user it's easier.
