Different shell icons to identify each associated file type has just been checked in. Very nice. For more information turn to bug 99380 and Jez's Mozilla Icon Compendium.

Do these only apply to seamonkey or are they for Firefox too?

Why are the documents red and not white/blue as in Windows?

The bug suggests very strongly that these icons are only tempoary and that the visual identity team are working on a nicer set of icons. Which is, in my opinion, A Good Thing. Apparently, the redness of the icons is supposed to assosiate them with Mozilla. Of course, there's no evidedence that such a thing will work.

I think the Mac platform has some pretty specific icon guidelines which we'd do well to copy on all platforms.
