Gemal, you should know better. It's not XUL. No reason to give that even more popularity or make anybody think it was.

I know it's not XUL. The "XUL Grand Coding Challenge 2004" isn't limited to Mozilla XUL.

The pont is the guy that does all these 'XUL' competitions is trying to dilute the XUL name to mean anything that uses XML to define a UI. Therefore causing confusion as to whether people mean XUL as in Mozilla or just any Mozilla based language.

The guy is Gerald Bauer (or something), look how popular he is on Mozillazine any time he pops up.

<nitpick>Also XUL means XML-based User interface language</nitpick>

This topic has been debated over an over again... XUL is not a common acronym for averything that uses XML to define a user interface. XUL is the language Mozilla uses to define a user interface in xml, XAML is the language Microsoft uses.

Calling XAML XUL is just plain wrong. This guy was told right in the beginning that he should choose something like XUI or XUIL XUIML or ANYTHING that wasn't already taken. He refused.

He has also been very obnoxious about the issue, questioning Ben Goodger's and other key people's authority when it comes to mozilla, refusing to reason, and generally being a pain.

The guy is somewhat of an arse, albeit a very stubborn one. Please don't encourage him
