All of these can be faked user-agent strings. And at least two of these are fakes for sure.
Netscape 7 was never available for OS/2, so the first UA-string in this blogpost is rather a fake (I don't think AOL would do it).
Also, there was no Netscape 7.1 es-ES, so I don't think they would make an es-ES version of 7.2, so the third one also doesn't look real.
Comment by marcoos at June 30, 2004 12:53 PM | Permalinkbut there are 7.2 Netscape builds out there, i saw one from a person (his host), who would to 99,9999% never fake a UA.
Comment by mcsmurf at June 30, 2004 01:48 PM | Permalinkmcsmurf: If so, where can I get one? Or at least a screenshot. :)

I hope there will also be translations.
Comment by ZeroMC at June 30, 2004 03:01 PM | PermalinkWho sport a new(ish) UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (OS/2; U; Warp 4.5; de-AT; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040618 Netscape/7.2. I'm apparantly not the only one. I guess we shall be seeing it soon. I'm curious what's bundled with it, and if there are any Netscape...
TrackBack from There are some among us at June 30, 2004 04:22 PM | Permalink@marcoos: no screenshots for now, just wait until 7.2 is out :) (i also won't name the person who uses it, but why not just use Google ;-)
@ZeroMC: *grr* just come into irc... ;-)
Translations, i think there will be some
Sorry, but
Mozilla/5.0 (OS/2; U; Warp 4.5; de-AT; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040618 Netscape/7.2
is a fake.
I've faked my UA-String from Linux to OS/2 because OS/2 isn't used that much, so I can easily detect my own page views on the sites I maintain.
Because some sites require a Netscape in the UA-string to display properly, I have added the name Netscape to the UA-String. And because of the rumours about a Netscape 7.2 release based on Mozilla 1.7 I decided - when upgrading from 1.6 to 1.7 - to switch the Netscape version from 7.1 to 7.2
(I don't think, there will be a official OS/2 Version of Netscape. The German locale of Netscape 7.1 is btw de-DE. de-AT is Mozilla German.)
Sorry, maybe the other user agents are true, but the UA of OS/2 is a fake.
Comment by w_j_s at July 1, 2004 12:45 AM | PermalinkGive Netscape 7.2 some time to come out. I think that everyone would want a stable, working release instead of something like NS6+.0...

I want to purchase the Netscape 7.2 CD and Guidebook when they become available. I would like to preorder them by sending you a check for its cost plus S&H. How much will it be and to whom should I send my check? I like the version 7.1 that I am using but I look forward to receiving the version 7.2.
Comment by Harry L. Sandberg at July 23, 2004 07:17 PM | PermalinkHi,
I love Netscape 6.0 gold.
It worked well.
However I hope this release is going to ber even beetter.
As usual, it has probably been online just a few hours and people were waiting for it...
