Thinking about Firefox security
What would happen if Mozilla's Firefox suddenly became the browser that everyone was running? What would happen if it was as big a target for hackers and for virus and spyware authors as Internet Explorer is now. How would Firefox's reputation for security hold up? One has to wonder how secure a default Firefox installation is, and if there are things that can be done to make a Firefox deployment more secure?

How big a marketshare does he want? Firefox globally has between 10% and 25% marketschare depending on the country. Over 90% of remotely nerdy people have Firefox. He thinks that IE6 is 77MB and that IE7 is 10MB where he doesn't understand that it is a 10MB update to IE6.
He keeps suggesting that Firefox is "widely accepted more secure" in "perception" where he raises doubt about Firefox's security.

"Firefox is a whole lot smaller than Internet "Explorer and should therefore theoretically have fewer security holes."
He thinks best security-features Firefox has are:
1 activeX"For starters, unlike Internet Explorer, Firefox can not become infected with spyware just because you visited a malicious Web page"
2 activeX"s because it does not offer any support for VBScript or ActiveX"
3 no Microsoft's Java VM"
I really hope he got paid for his sneaky advertising and that people won't think he's an idiot(because I do)

Oh.. and I didn't realize Firefox has "reputation for security." Who made up this absurd claim?

Wow, welcome to two years ago. That article is rubbish, really. I don't see the distinction between "an application" and "part of the OS" when both have powerful APIs for file handling.
