Addon development is back

For a long time I simply just didn't have the time to do development on my addons.

I've created 6 addons and some are fairly popular.

Linky which is the most popular one just passed 620.000 downloads and has more than 35.000 active daily users. Linky enables you to quickly open multiple links. You can also download, validate, copy and bookmark multiple links. All in one click.

Launchy which enables you to open links in other applications has around 23.000 daily users and more than 380.000 total downloads.

Closy, Reliby, Validaty and Slashy all weighs in at around 2.500 active daily users.

The main purpose of this blog post is to tell everybody that the development is back in business. I've been able to find time to develop the addons again, adding new features and fixing old bugs.

I also would like to thanks everybody who donated money so that I can continue the development. Thanks! You can also donate!

I released a new version of all of the addons except Slashy. It's quite amazing to see the high number of Linky users if you take into consideration that the prior version was released in March 2006!

Linky's latest version doesn't open more than 10-20 links anymore. It used to be able to open max. 99 links but last version doesn't. I'm going to remove and install an earlier version. Please have a look at this problem on your next release. Keep up the good work.

gemal.dk - Can this be done? Links in same tab, links from external apps in new tab:
http://gemal.dk/blog/2009/09/18/can_this_be_done_links_in_same_tab_links_from_external_app/ = Security code: Don't work...

Hello, maybe you can use:

TargetKiller :: Add-ons for Firefox (v0.7Firefox1.0–3.6.*) :
https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/495

"TargetKiller is a small extension for the Firefox web browser. The extension removes the target attribute from links on the fly. You can specify which target attributes should get removed. By default TargetKiller is removing all target attributes which equals to _blank or _new."

Note: https don't work in input field "URL"... fix it please.

For Closy v1.7.0Firefox1.0–3.7a3pre :
http://gemal.dk/mozilla/closy.html
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/1849

I) Change please:
Close Duplicate Tabs
to
Close Duplicate Link For All Tabs
and add
Close Duplicate Link For This Tab

Ibis) Change please:
Closes all other tabs that has the same host as this one
to
Close Duplicate Host For This Tab
and add
Close Duplicate Host For All Tabs

II) Rearrange the menu then... ;-) I use the length of the text (in French) to sort the menus based on the functions involved. Thank you to take notes.

(Sorry for my english, i'm french, but the proposed changes in english are ok!) (I can not give you money with PayPal, confused.)

Thank you very much and thank you very much for accepting my 'user' feedback ;-)

I'd like to show the Reliby button in my toolbar, but hide it in my Bookmarks menu. Maybe the easiest way to hide it would be to insert a line in UserChrome.css

What should that line be? Something like:

#XXXX { display: none !important;}

but what should XXXX be?

Thanks!

Linky is one of my favorite addons, it addresses the exact need I have with browsing image boards and implements it in a way that gives me options and is very easy to use. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making it, oh and my mouse thanks you to :P (it would have died ages ago from over clicking if not for this addon).

Now lately I have been messing with chrome as of late and was looking for a version of linky for it and only came across an extension that basically ripped off the name and icon and is not like linky in just about every way. If you are getting back into addon development could the fans of the actual linky persuade you to make a chrome version of it?

Hi and thanks for spending some more time on Linky, it's a great add-on for firefox!

Feature Request - Can you bring back option to 'Open All Image Links In One Tab' ? It's the one thing I am missing in new version.

Cheers

Great news!
I.ve been trying to add applications to the .jar file in the xpi but as soon as i do, Firefox 4 says it's no longer compatible.

Hopefully you will get a workaround for the missing chrome folder in Firefox 4.
